Weingut von Winning - Riesling Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad 2016 (88 TSW)
Almost weekend. After a busy week at work, a cold and ear infections, a well-made Riesling can make my day.???? This Pfalz Riesling from von Winning is always a steady choice.???????? The Reiterpfad vineyard is situated between the German Wine Street and the Haardt Hills. Since the vineyard extends for a considerable distance, the soils are also very different: mainly weathered hillside rock, washed-up sand and red sandstone and intermittent beds of marl lime and quaternary loess.
The location is south-east and slightly inclined. The climate in the Ruppertsberg Equestrian Trail is very mild, which is also due to the red sandstone walls in the vineyards. The name comes from the Roman era. The Romans or the riders used a path along the vineyard for their transports.
Depending on the vintage, it is fermented up to one third in 1200 litre wooden barrels.
In the glass a bright golden yellow color.
On the palate dry, medium bodied with ripe pear, tropical fruits and grapefruit with hints of pertol, flint and honey notes.
On the palate dry, medium bodied with medium acidity, light creamy and with a nice freshness. Finish is of medium intensity and length.
