A rainy day in Holland. So why not bring some sunshine in the glass?
Also I used this nice hat winecooler from puikdesign
Great isn’t it? And it works also!
About the winery
The origin of this winery dates back to the early 18th century. In 1836 the company was taken over by Franz's ancestors at the current location. In the area of 15 hectares, consisting mainly of primeval rock (granulate of volcanic origin) cultivates the traditional grape varieties of Kremstal in harmony with nature. The sustainable management of the soil always has the highest priority. 75% of the vineyards are planted here with Grüner Veltliner, the flagship from the region.
At Türk you will not find "Jungweinen" with primary fruit. Because even the Grüner Veltliner "Der Leichte" only comes to the bottle after the ripening sur lie. The wine gets time to develop through the ripening on the yeast. A careful and minimal vinification produces wines that reflect the soil, the microclimate and the details of a vintage.
After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine that has been fermented is not filtered or pumped over and continues for several months on the "lie", the lees, which lies on the bottom of the barrel or the stainless steel tank. In that dregs there are still residues of yeast and other solid substances, which, in the absence of oxygen, will ferment themselves. This results in a fuller and more complex taste of the wine which, as it is called, has "fed with the yeast". My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright golden yellow color.
On the nose delicate aromas of lemon, peach and green apple with hints of grapefruit and white pepper.
On the palate dry, fresh with medium intensity and juicy acidity. Flavours showing a recall of the nose with a long a crispy aftertaste. Worth every euro.
