Weingut Schwedhelm - Riesling Kreuzberg 2016

Weingut Schwedhelm - Riesling Kreuzberg 2016 (88 TSW)
To start the week we opened this very nice Riesling from the Pfalz region from Weingut Schwedhelm. Perfect with spicy dishes but a special recommendation would be pasta with preserved in olive oil clams.
The Kreuzberg is located below the village of Zell. The location is characterized by clay soil with a high proportion of limestone. This soil is also the defining element for the Riesling grapes, which ripen here with a particularly strong character. Stephan Schwedhelm perfectly expresses the special character of this situation in the finished wine.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright golden yellow color.
On the medium+ nose delicate aromas of citrus fruit, nectarine and green aplle with hints of flowers and herbs.
On the palate dry, medium bodied+ with medium+ acidity and nice freshness. Flavours are a recall of the nose with nice minerality and a very nice and long aftertaste.
