Weingut Reumann – Equinox 365 - 2015 (88 TSW pnts.)
Blend of Blaufränkisch, Merlot and St. Laurent from Mittelburgenland wineregion – Austria.
Josef, his wife Maria and their daughters Vera and Hannah put much dedication, love and passion into their winery in Deutschkreutz in central Burgenland. On the approximately 13 hectares of vineyards the noble variety Blaufränkisch plays an important role. The climatic and geographical conditions are predestined for characterful wines of this variety - as the Cuvée "Phoenix" or the Reserve "Altes Weingebirge" impressively show.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a dark ruby color with garnet reflections.
On the medium+ nose aromas of blackberries, blueberries and cherries with hint of herbal spices.
On the palate dry, medium-bodied with medium tannins and acidity showing flavours of blackberries, red berries and black pepper. Nice freshness in the medium+ aftertaste.
Josef Reumann recommends his Equinox for example with Martini goose, mushroom dishes or roasted calf's liver.
