Two weeks ago we enjoyed a little vacation and we tried this lovely Riesling from the Pfalz region. It’s very nice as aperitif but also to pair with pork, shellfish, spicy food, poultry and salted meat.

My notes:

In the glass a bright golden yellow color.
This Riesling has a medium+ nose with aromas of mango, lemon grass, peach with spicy hints and grapefruit.
On the palate dry, round and well balanced with medium+ acidity and nice freshness. You can taste flavours of peach, citrus fruit, something vegetable with hints of honey, apricot and minerality. The finish is long with tropical fruits.

About the vineyard:

The location is characterized by storage debris, loamy sand and limestone. The Deidesheimer Maushöhle is open to the east and the location on the slope of a protective valley brings the vines, especially in the evenings a steady supply of air. So, the grapes dry quickly, an absolute plus for their health, and at the same time ensures the constant breeze for a high standard of fruitiness and acidity, which, despite all the luxuriance of the soil, the Riesling growing here leaves its traditional natural elegance.
