Villa Franciacorta - Riserva RNA Brut 2004 (92 TSW)
No better place to try this Franciacorta bubble @vinoandfriends_oggi
We tasted this one and we were thinking of a vintage Champagne.
My tasting notes:
Blend of 78% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Noir.
Extremely refined bubble due to a second fermentation of five years in the bottle.
Powerful and intense bouquet of roasted hazelnut, baked apples, raisins and bread crust with floral accents.
Very dry and clean in the mouth. Powerful, lots of structure, perfect balance and a full taste.
Villa Franciacorta is located in a medieval castle in Monticelli Brusati; the heart of the Franciacorta region. Villa is a company with a rich history where wine was already produced in the nineteenth century. In the 1970s, Villa Franciacorta was one of the forerunners that put Franciacorta on the map as a sparkling wine region. More information about Villa Franciacorta.
Villa Franciacorta RNA Extra Brut is a special wine that was created on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Villa Franciacorta as a winery. A thorough selection of the 2004 base wines has been made for this wine to create a rich and intense franciacorta. Only 1,000 bottles of this RNA were produced and that makes this (numbered) bottle a rare asset.
