Vigneti Bonaventura - Maancrie Offida DOCG 2012 (91 TSW)
Blend of 85% Montepulciano and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Marche region.
This red one is a wine produced entirely, vinified and bottled in origin by Vigneti Bonaventura, a surprising reality located on the rolling hills from the municipality of Acquaviva Picena in the Marche region. It is an organic wine harvest only the best bunches of grapes and refining in French oak barriers and for at least 30 months then another 6 months in bottle.
I really was blown away by this wine.
In the glass a deep and intense ruby red color.
On the medium+ nose black cherries, blackberries and plums with hints of leather, vanilla, black pepper and coffee.
On the palate dry, medium++ bodied with medium acidity and medium well integrated tannins. Warm and round mouthfeel, nicely balanced with a recall of the nose. Long and persistent aftertaste.
Ideal to combine with meat dishes, and to try with pheasant with plums.
