Vicente Gandia – Ostras Pedrin - Verdosilla (83 tsomw points)
Ever heard about this variety - Verdosilla? The grapes come from Alto Turia, a wine region at 1.100 meters situated in Spain. It's about 50 meters from the coast of Valencia.
Vicente Gandía is a wine producer, founded in 1885 in Valencia. Meanwhile, the fourth generation of the Gandía family is in charge.
Vicente Gandía is seen as the largest wine estate in Valencia and surrounding. According to the internationally recognized Penin wine Guide the winery has also the best price-quality ratio.
Tasting notes:
In the glass a bright citrus yellow color.
On the nose aromas of lime, flowers, yeast with hints of pear and hazelnut.
On the palate dry, nice balance and light waxy with flavours of apple, honey and dried apricots. The acidity is for me a bit the problem. This is too low to give it more exitement in the mouth. Spicy medium aftertaste.
