Trimbach Riesling Vieilles Vignes 2014 (87 TSW points)
The Trimbach family started wine growing in 1626. For almost four centuries, Trimbach has been growing their vineyards on exceptional terroirs and making fine wines in the Alsace region. Today, Trimbach is led by Hubert Trimbach, cousins Jan and Peter, and his daughter Anne, the oldest of the 13th generation.
The Trimbachs let their wines age in their cellars for a number of years before they come on the market. Especially for the great wines, such as Trimbach’s Clos Ste. Hune and Cuvée Frédéric Emile. The Trimbach style can also be described as structured dry wines, fruity, elegant and balanced.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright citrus yellow color.
On the medium+ nose intense aromas of citrus, green apple, peach with light hints of petrol and flowers.
On the palate dry, medium-bodied, balanced with high acidity with flavours of ripe apple, peach, apricot and lemon. Well made Riesling from Alsace.
