Tenuta Sette Cieli - Noi4 Bolgheri 2012
Pairing Suggestions
Tenuta Sette Cieli - Noi4 Bolgheri 2012 (89 TSW)
Blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
Tenuta Sette Cieli is located between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci, on the coast of Tuscany at around 400 metres above sea level. This prestigious estate sprawls over 80 hectares, however only 10 are set up as vineyards.
NOI4 (noy-kwah-tro) translates to “the four of us.” It represents the four members of the Ratti family, and is used at the entrance of their property. NOI4 was also the fourth wine added to Tenuta Sette Cieli’s portfolio and there was a team of four people that chose to make this wine.
Fermentation in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures; with indigenous yeast; before the fermentation starts, there is a cold maceration for 3-4 days; 100% malolactic. Cold maceration for 3-4 days.
Barrel Aging for 15 months in 60-gallon French oak (50% new)
My tasting notes:
In the glass a deep ruby red color.
On the medium(+) nose aromas of ripe blackberries and plums with hints of forest floor, mushrooms and chocolate.
On the palate dry, medium(+) bodied with medium acidity and soft tannins. Flavours are a recall of the nose with a medium length final.
