About the winery:
Wijngaard St. Martinus is an innovative, modern wine company that considers sustainability to be of very important. The vineyard has been around since 1988 and was the first to make red wines in the Netherlands. The vineyard of Stan Beurskens and his wife Nienke is open to the public 6 days a week and gives 3 guided tours every week during the 'summer' season.
Located in the beautiful mountain village of Vijlen with a breathtaking view from their terrace you can visit their wine estate.
As you know the climate change will also change the winemaking in our country. This year we have extreme sunny and warm weather with certain cooling down in the evening. Very curious what this will do with the grapes.
Tasting notes:
In the glass a bright yellow color. The mousse is fine and persistent.
On the nose delicate aromas of melon, apple, light grassy with hints of flowers and brioche.
On the palate nice acidity and freshness with flavours of apple, grapefruit and citrus. Great long aftertaste.
