St. Martinus - Cuvée Prestige 2013 Brut Nature (86 TSW)
A sparkling wine from the South of the Netherlands. Grape: Souvignier Gris
Ever heard about Souvignier Gris?
Souvignier gris is a white German wine grape variety (hybride) that was created in 1983 Dr. Norbert Becker by crossing the red French wine grape variety Cabernet Sauvignon with the white German grape crossing previously created by Becker known as Bronner. 1st fermentation on barrique, 24 months aged on yeast, 2nd fermentation in the bottle (method traditionelle) also for 24 months.
My tasting notes:
Small bubble, nice mousse ( after some minutes slightly disappearing )
On the medium nose aromas of yellow apple, pear and citrus with hints of yeast, toast and nuts.
On the palate dry, medium-bodied with medium acidity and freshness. Flavours of citrus, light barrique and nutty hints. Light almond finish.
Stay save, stay at home! Let's kick out Corona. Cin Cin
