Rodriguez de Vera - Chardonnay 2018 (87 TSW)
Today its #internationalchardonnayday
So let's open a nice one from Castilla La Mancha wine region.
Rodriguez de Vera is a small boutique family bodega that is now the 7th generation. The Bodega, estate Casalta, is located in Chinchille de Montearagón, province of Albacete, and falls under the vt Castilla.
Both the bodega and the vineyards are located at 986 meters above sea level and the area is called the Balcony to the Mediterranean. They own 20 hectares of their own vineyards, with vines between 20 and 60 years old. They are working biodynamically, and hope to obtain the certifications soon. The harvest is manual and a 2nd selection takes place in the bodega. Only the best grapes are used.
I know that they look for importers or distributors in any place. When you would like working with them send me a message. ?? About this wine:
This white wine of 100% Chardonnay, is fermented in French oak barrels (300 liter) for one month, five months with weekly batonages. and then aged in large stainless steel tanks for 7 months. Production about 12.000 bottles.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a medium golden yellow color.
On the medium nose aromas of yellow apple, soft lemon and stonefruits with hints of flowers, cedar, flowers and light vanilla.
On the palate dry, medium bodied with medium acidity and a light creamy mouthfeel. Flavours are a recall of the nose with a spicy, bitter finish.
Delicious to drink like this, but excellent with a salad, chicken or fish.
