Pfitscher - Pinot Bianco Langefeld (87 tsomw points)
As you mabye know. I am a big fan of Alto Adige wine. I tasted the wines of Pfitscher at Vinitaly and was enthausiast after the first sip :) Quality over quantity: Klaus and Monika Pfitscher’s and their sons Daniel and Hannes goal is clear. Their long-lived family business, Cantina Pfitscher, was established ini 1861 in Montagna, Bolzano, a very pleasant town known for being one of the cradles of Pinot Nero.
Cantina Pfitscher has made great wines for generations, carefully maintaining production on a small scale. Its philosophy is based on keeping quantity at a minimum, to attain the most refined and valuable products – given the constraint of time, of course: here no part of the process is ever rushed, and grapes ripen naturally without any interruption.
Tasting notes:
In the glass a bright yellow color with green reflections.
On the nose intense aromas of goosberries, peach and citrus with hints of yellow apple, pear and flowers.
On the palate well structured an good balance with nice freshness and acidity. Medium bodied with a recall of the nose and nice minerality. The finish is clean and persistent.
