Parés Baltà - Indigena Rosé R-Evolution 2016
Pairing Suggestions
On my trip to Catalunya two weeks ago we enjoyed this nice #summerwine with 100% #grenache at Playa D’aro.
Pares Balta – Indigena Rosé R-Evolution 2016 (86 tsomw points)
The family business Parés Baltà owned by the Cusiné family since 1790 is located in the Penedès, just to the west of Barcelona. With vineyards of 170 to 750 meters above sea level (so in all three sub-zones) different types of soil and microclimates are reached.
The wine is made from Grenache vines grown at an altitude of 615 metres above sea level in chalk and marl soils crafted by the Parés Baltà winery, which belongs to the Penedès DO.
First the grapes were cold-soaked and gently crushed. Then, the organically farmed grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks for two weeks.
Tasting notes:
In the glass a bright rosé color with copper reflections.
On the nose intense aromas of raspberries and cherries and bloom.
On the palate dry, nicely balanced and fruity with flavours of peach, raspberries with hints of herbs and hay. In the mouth not too much acidity, very juicy and soft with long reverberation in the finish.
