Mirabeau en Provence - Rosé 2017
Pairing Suggestions
Mirabeau en Provence - Rosé 2017 (88 tsomw points)
This is their entry level rosé with great PQR.
Blend of 60% Syrah, 40% Grenache.
Great as aperetif but also steady enough for food pairing.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a salmon Provence color.
On the nose delicate aromas of red berries, strawberries and raspberries with hints of citrus and fennel.
On the palate medium bodied with nice acidity and freshness showing flavours of strawberries and peach with light grapefruit, mineral and pepper hints. Nice long aftertaste.
About the winery:
After different careers, Stephen Cronk and his wife Jeany and three kids decided to leave London for Provence - with the aim of becoming a rosé producer. This was successful, not by planting or buying a vineyard, but by making arrangements with growers in Côtes de Provence who could supply grapes (from a potential 2000 hectares). The brand chosen by Stephen was Mirabeau and Provence.
