Lis Neris - Jurosa Chardonnay 2011 (90 TSW)
Another wine from Friuli and not a typical variety from this region.
I already tasted their top Sauvignon Blanc (Picol) and their Pinot Gris (Gris) and I found out that these can age very nicely. This is no different with this Chardonnay.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a golden yellow color.
On the medium+ nose aromas of exotic fruit, lemon, hazelnut, butter and vanilla.
On the palate medium++ bodied with medium acidity and round light fatty mouthfeel. Lots of butter, vanilla and oak. Maybe too much for me but it goes well with the acidity and it's great with food. Could be a combo of Napa Chardonnay and a Meursault.
Would pair perfect with fat fish, savoury pie, pasta with white sauce.
