Leeuwin Estate - 'Art Series' Riesling 2014 (86 TSW)
Nice refreshing drop from Margaret River - Australia.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a pale citrus yellow color.
On the medium+ nose aromas of lemon, green apple and peach with hints of flowers, petrol and honey.
On the palate dry, medium+ crisp acidity with a recall of the nose. Medium length finish. Easy to drink. Not a hotshot but ok.
Very curious about their other wines.
About the winery:
In the early 1970s, Leeuwin Estate pioneered this Margaret River region. Cape Leeuwin was well know for its surfers' paradise, beautiful coastline and scenic beauty.
The Horgans soon realized that Margaret River can be happy with a Mediterranean climate with little rain, an advantageous cooling at night from the sea and a soil of clay, pebble and granite, all in all a paradise for wine growing. Mother Tricia and father Denis Horgan have ensured that Leeuwin Estate winery has received an excellent place on the international world wine list.
In addition to their passion for gastronomy and wines, it is not surprising that the Horgan family are also great art lovers. The great collection of labels from the "Art Series" collection is confirmation of this. In addition, the beautiful Leeuwin Estate also houses one of the top restaurants in Australia and a stylish and exclusive concert is organized every year.
