Pairing Suggestions
Le Macchiole - Bolgheri Rosso 2015 (89 TSW)
Blend of Merlot 40%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Cabernet Sauvignon 15%, Syrah 15%
In the glass a deep ruby red color.
On the medium+ nose aromas of cherries, cassis, blackcurrants and blueberries with hints of vanilla, barrique, spices and light tobacco.
On the palate dry, medium+ bodied with medium acidity and medium+ tannins. Perfect long finish. Well integrated barrique.
Will get even better within 3 years.
"Paleo Rosso" has been a pure cabernet franc since the 2001 harvest, while cabernet sauvignon used to dominate.
The powerful syrah and concentrated merlot also go into the bottle separately, respectively as "Scrio" and "Messorio". The only white wine of the range, "Paleo Bianco", is an oak barrique fermented and aged blend of sauvignon (70%) and chardonnay (30%). Did you already taste these wines and which one is your favorite?
