Top red wine from Macedonia!
Kamnik – Ten Barrels Syrah Reserva 2013 (90 tsomw points)
In the glass an intense ruby red color.
On the nose intense aromas of dark berries, chocolate, liquorice, black olives with hints of violets and spices.
On the palate full-bodied, soft and round tannins, full of red fruit but not too jammy, with good balance and structure and finishes with a great aftertaste. Lots of aging potential.
Winemakers notes:
This wine is made from Syrah grapes from the vineyards surrounding the Kamnik winery. It is characterized by a vivacious and deep ruby red color and crystal clearness. The bouquet is rich in dark berries, which are typical for the variety, and with discreet spicy tones of clove, dark chocolate, vanilla and liqorice. The complexity of the wine is revealed in its elegant and full-bodied taste with excellent structure, soft velvety tannins and well integrated oak aromas finishing with a long aftertaste. The splendor of this syrah comes as a result of the 23 months of ageing in new American and French oak barriques. Ten Barrels Syrah Reserva 2013 is perfectly combined with meat specialties, especially with game in spicy sauces.
Recommended serving temperature: 16-18°C. The wine has a bottle-ageing capacity of several years.
