My tasting notes:
In the glass a light citrus yellow color.
On the medium (+) nose complex aromas of citrus, white peach and gooseberries with hints of mango, pineapple and some honey.
On the palate, dry, medium bodied with medium(+) acidity. Very fresh and mineral with citrus, pineapple, iron and saline with a nice light almond finish.
To pair with: Fish-based starters, grilled fish and white meat.
Argyros Estate, founded in 1903, is the small family wine estate of the Argyros family on the beautiful, well known, volcanic island of Santorini. For generations, the family here has been making wines from the island's local grapes, such as the Assyrtiko. Over time, the company has expanded quite a bit and the cellars have been completely modernized. The current winemaker and now the fourth generation of the family, Mattheos Argyros has also managed to export his wines to other countries. These legendary wines have also been excellently received by wine critics.
