Emil Bauer & Söhne - If You Are Racist Sauvignon Blanc (85 TSW)
The Bauers are now turning some really big wheels. If you look at the development of the past six to eight years, the manageable family winery from the Pfalz region has become a big player. In particular, the entry of marketing specialist Martin Bauer, the brother of wine maker Alexander, proved to be a perfect move.
The revolutionary "Just Riesling" label is already a legend and the other provocative labels are just as successful; each label tells a piece from the life of the two brothers, about how they are and how they think. I personally am not charmed by it, but many wine drinkers do and you can get a nice discussion over the dinner table What do you think of their winelabels?
A large number of grape varieties are cultivated here, which is typical of the Pflaz. In addition to classics such as riesling, grauburgunder, weißburgunder and silvaner, there are also international varieties such as merlot, cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc.
Now talking about the wine.
In the glass a bright golden yellow color.
On the medium+ nose aromas of lime, grapefruit and pear with hints of yeast and apple blossom.
On the palate dry, light bodied with medium+ acidity and freshness. A bit too flat palate for me with gooseberry, citrus aftertaste.
