Dr. Crusius - Norheimer Kirschheck Riesling trocken 2016 (88 tsomw points)
A beautiful Riesling from the Nähe region.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a golden yellow color with light greenish reflections.
On the nose delicate aromas of green apple, citrus fruits and yellow plums with elegant hints of minerals, flowers and light kerosene.
On the palate dry with light fatness and elegant but a serious sip in vivid and crystalline acids. The finish is long and savory. Nice characterful Riesling.
Winery:
With the creation of the spectacular top location "Traiser Bastei" in 1870 began at the winery Dr. med. Crusius the ascent to the highly decorated top wine estates of Germany with an international reputation. Today, the winery is a member of the Association of German Prädikatsweingüter (VDP) and ranks with 4 of 5 grapes at Gault Millau among the 60 best wineries in Germany. The doctor oenologist Peter Crusius creates at the winery Dr. med. Together with his wife Birgitta, Crusius produces unique, near-by wines that clearly show their origin and are inspired by minerality and finesse-rich aromas.
Vineyard:
They own about 17 hectares of vineyards and about 70 percent are located in classified prime locations. Typical for the growing area Nähe, the Riesling predominates here as well.
