Domaine Testut - Chablis 'Rive Droite'2018 (88 TSW)
Domaine Testut, founded by Philippe Testut in 1967 in the aftermath of the creation of the famous Château Grenouille. The special thing, which makes it a great quality, is that 80% of the vines are located on the right bank of the Serein, ie in the very historic heart of the Chablis appellation between the Montée de Tonnerre (1er cru) and Blanchots (Grand Cru); the Italians would say: classico. In the case of the Rive-Droite cuvée, the vines come from mass selections that impart an aromatic complexity due to the unevenness of the vines that are 50 years old, which supports the idea of minerality and depth in the wine.
Today his son Cyril is the owner and winemaker. It is with 13 ha. a not very large company in the heart of Chablis. Many farmers in this region harvest by machine, but at Testut they still harvest the grapes by hand! As a result, the harvest moment is often well-timed.
Domaine Testut Chablis has a modest PR policy. Because of this you really have to discover the wines yourself. They are, incorrectly, not extensively described by the international wine press.

My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright citrus yellow color.
On the medium nose aromas of pear, lemonzest and chalky hints with hints of flint and toast.
On the palate dry, medium bodied with with medium acidity and round mouthfeel. Nice medium length mineral aftertaste.
