Domaine du Castel - La Vie Rouge 2016
Ever tasted a wine from Israel? This one is from the Judean Hills close to Jerusalem.
This wine is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, (80%) with the addition of 14% Merlot, 4% Syrah and 2% Petit Verdot.
After fermentation and a short period in French oak barrels, the wine ages for a year in concrete tanks. This wine is easy to drink and well made.

In the glass a ruby dark purple color.
On the nose dark plums, berry fruit, cinnamon with light meaty tones, oak and chocolate.
On the palate medium/full-bodied with dark fresh fruit and light tannins. Nice long aftertaste.
