Chateau de Villegeorge - Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, 2010
Pairing Suggestions
Chateau de Villegeorge - Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, 2010 (86 tsomw points)
79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot.
Haut-Médoc is an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) for wine in the Bordeaux wine region of southwestern France, on the Left Bank of the Gironde estuary. The Chateau de Villegeorge vineyard is 12,32 hectares and is situated on the commune of Avensan. The vineyard blocks are made up of deep gravel soils. Aged in oak barrels (10 to 16 months)
My tasting notes:
In the glass a dark ruby red color.
On the nose medium intensity with blackberries, dark cherries and some ceder, black olives and light vanilla.
On the palate dry, medium-bodied with soft mouthfeel showing dark fruits, vanilla and underbrush. Tannins are well integrated with a bit lack of acidity – for me. The finish has medium length.
