Chateau Cantenac - Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2014 (89 TSW)
Blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon.
Terroir: sand on gravel and blue clay.
Vinification & aging : traditional 18 months - 12 months French oak.
2014 is not the best vintage for Bordeaux but this one doesn't disappoint.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a crimson red color.
On the medium+ nose black cherries, plums with hints of cedar, vanilla, leather, spices and tobacco.
On the palate dry, medium+ bodied with medium+ ripe tannins and medium acidity. Flavours of ripe cherries, mature berries, chocolate and vanilla. Nice and long finish. Santé.
