Chateau Camparnaud - Prestige Rosé Provence 2019 (89 TSW)
Today, 5 may, we celebrate 75 years of freedom in the Netherlands. ???????? Because of the pandemic we celebrate it at home so why not open this lovely rosé
This rosé is from the Provence but also a little bit Dutch because it’s the Dutch owner Marnix Engels who, in collaboration with the noble Chevron Villette family, has managed to realize a world-class domain.
The Prestige is a blend of the typical Provence rose with Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Tibouren and Rolle.
In the glass, this Château Camparnaud Prestige has a beautiful light salmon pink rosé and of course this is also a rosé which has been produced with respect for people and nature and is ecologically certified: Terra Vitis.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright provence salmon color.
On the medium nose aromas of raspberries, peach and strawberries with hints of watermelon, spices and with a stoney minerality.
On the palate dry, medium bodied with a nice round mouthfeel, medium+ acidity and nice freshness. One of the best I tried lately. Proost!
To pair with spicy Asian food, a Paella or a barbecue but fits well with many dishes in the Mediterranean kitchen.
The grapes come from the Côtes de Provence vineyards, which are also ecologically certified. The vines are on average between 20 and 60 years old and one of the few uses a tri-optique, so that only the best grapes make it into the selection. For all wines, only temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, no wood, are used, in order to let the pure expression of the terroir speak as much as possible.
