Bodvár - N° 1 rosé
Pairing Suggestions
Bodvár - N° 1 rosé (87 TSW)
Temperature is rising in the Netherlands so it’s time to plop a 100% Cinsault sparkling from Languedoc Roussillon region. Cinsault is the fourth most widely planted grape variety in France, and is especially important in Languedoc-Roussillon. It is also widely used for rosé wines in Provence.
This red wine grape, whose heat tolerance and productivity make it important in Languedoc-Roussillon and the former French colonies of Algeria, Lebanon and Morocco. It is often blended with grapes such as Grenache and Carignan to add softness and bouquet.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright pink color. The bubble is fine and persistent.
On the medium nose aromas of strawberries, red berries and orangepeel with hints of white flowers and mandarin.
On the palate dry, medium bodied with balanced acidity and freshness. Flavours are a recall of the nose with mediterranean herbs and a light bitterness in the finish.
N°1 is ideal throughout the meal, from aperitif to dessert. Serve well chilled.
