Terra de Verema - Triumvirat 2009 (90 TSW)
My tasting notes:
In the glass a dark berries red color.
On the mdium+ nose of dark cherries, dried prunes, cinnamon with hints of herbs and cedar.
On the palate medium+ bodied, good structure, complexity and nice acidity after almost 10 years. The tannins are soft and the finish is persitence. Absolute great PQR
The Triumvirat is a dark red to deep red wine. The grapes are 55% Carinena, 35% Grenache and 10% Syrah. The vineyards consist partly of 70 - 90 year old stumps and partly of newer plantings. It is grown, harvested and produced according to biological principles. The aging of the wood is 12 months in oak barrels and then 12 months in the bottle. The wine has an excellent price / quality ratio. This is evident from the excellent Robert Parker rating of 94 points. Retailprice about € 20,- About the winery:
A partnership between Ramon Farre Marti and Ester Nin Llort in the Vilella Baixa del Priorato region beginning in 2005. Their Carignan based wines have already received much critical praise, securing them among the top handcrafted producers in this prestigious region. Like all of Ester's projects, Terra de Verema is farmed biodynamically.
Grapes are grown on steep, brown, slate-terraced vineyards typical of Priorat, at altitudes ranging from 350 to 500 metres. Yields are incredibly low, averaging 14hl/ha.
