Louis Roederer - Brut Premier (90 TSW points)
Two weeks ago we had a sort of pre Christmas dinner and we started the evening with this pleasant bubble and paired it with oysters.
This Brut is a mix of three grape varieties from at least four harvest years Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. The vins de réserve, which are added after the dosage are on average 2 to 5 years old and determine to a large extent the unique style of the house. Brut Premier ripens in bottle for at least 4 years before being placed on the market.
It's a lovely Champagne with a bright citrus yellow color. Lots of fine bubbles and very refined.
On the nose refined notes of citrus, red apple, some peach and brioche.
On the palate dry, soft, medium-bodied with nicely balanced medium+ acidity and a recall of the nose.
Light bitter and persistence aftertaste. Cin Cin
