Trossos del Priorat - Abracadabra 2016 (90 tsomw points)
70% Garnacha Blanca, 30% Macabeo.
The vineyards are located in Gratallops for a large part around the famous l'Ermita vineyards of Alvaro Palacios. The lack of expansion possibilities of that priceless vineyard has caused some bad blood to the neighbors. The total of 22 hectares is planted with Grenache, Carignane, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah and is biologically processed. The vineyards are now ten years old. For the wine 'Lo Món' (the world), grapes are also purchased from vines with an age of 80 years.
About the wine:
Fermentation in new French oak for 90 days at a controlled temperature of 17 ° C with regular bâtonnage. After this, the wine matures 'sur lie' on stainless steel for another four months. Once bottled, the wine matures for ten months in the bodega.
My tasting notes:
In the glass a bright straw yellow color.
On the nose delicate aromas of citrus, nectarine and pear with smoky hints of vanilla, blossom and spices.
On the palate dry, rich, complex and velvet in the mouth and a recall of the nose. Long and persistent aftertaste.
We paired it with tuna steak but will also nice with chicken and seafood.
