Saturday we had a great dinner and evening with friends. This was one of the last bottles we opened.
Casanova di Neri is one of the new generation of Brunello producers. The company started in 1971, when Giovanni Neri bought the largest domain in the Montalcino area. The domain is a total of 39 hectares and divided into 4 vineyards. The oldest vineyard is 45 years old. The vineyards are at a height of about 350 meters above sea level.
43 months in oak barrels, 6 months in bottle.
In the glass an intense ruby red color.
On the nose delicate and intense aromas of dark cherries, tobacco, leather and sweet spices.
On the palate dry, full-bodied with medium+ acidity and medium tannins showing flavours of dark cherries, plums, earth, leather and spices. Great and long aftertaste.
