Feuduccio – Pecorino Colline Teatine 2016 (89 tsomw points)
Pecorino is absolutely becoming one of my favourite grapes! This producer knows how to produce terrific wines.
Pecorino, an ancient vine, has its origins in the ancestral pastoral history of Abruzzo, from which, perhaps, it also derives its name. Set aside by the winemakers at the end of the 19th century for the low yield, we rediscover today in Pecorino those peculiarities of white grapes, precocious, which finds in the foothills of Abruzzo, its ideal environment.
The great personality and Pecorino peculiarity enable consumption during the meal in combination with starters based on raw fish, fresh and seasoned cheeses, even spiced and all kinds of mushrooms. We paired it with this tasty fish burger.
About the wine:
100 % Pecorino
Manual movement of the peels for fifteen days.
In stainless steel, controlled temperature
My tasting notes:
In the glass a golden yellow color with green reflections.
On the nose delicate aromas of citrus, apricots and tropical fruits with hints of flowers, herbs, mint and white pepper.
On the palate medium+ bodied, dry with nice round light waxy mouthfeel with lovely acidity and freshness. Flavours of ripe pear, apricot and melon and some honey with great minerality. Absolutely a nice white wine.
