Winery Oliver Zeter is located in Neustadt in the heart of Pfalz. The owner of the same name initially acquired a name as an importer, assisted by his father and his brother. But Oliver got bigger ambitions and wanted to produce wine himself. He was apprenticed to the winery Deinhard (today Von Winning) and then went to Italy and South Africa for 2 years. Back in Germany, Oliver worked for a while in the wine agency of his family in Hamburg. Then he returned to Neustadt. After a few initial tests, Zeter bottled his first annual bottle in 2007. With the wood-ripened sauvignon blanc 'Fumé' the young vintages gained great success among wine enthusiasts and experts.
The grapes are harvested from plots at the Mittelhaardt, the oldest and the best of the winery. After the manual harvest, the grapes were gently pressed and subsequently spontaneously fermented in French oak barrels. No biological acid reduction took place. The wine then ripened on the fine yeast in stainless steel. The bottling took place in the summer of 2016.
