Manincor - La Rose de Manincor 2016 Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT

Manincor - La Rose de Manincor 2016 (89 tsomw points) Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT.
During my stay in Veneto I visited a lovely enoteca in Caorle to find some wines for our stay in Italy. This biodynamic rosé we paired with a lovely bbcue with ofcourse some vegetables and salad. Blend of Lagrein, Merlot, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo and Syrah.
Not the regular rosé this blend from Alto Adige - Italy. More like a "normal" wine with more body and intensity.
My tasting notes:
The Manincor La Rose presents itself in a brilliant pink color.
On the nose delicate aromas of raspberries and cherries accompanied by summer flowers, white chocolate, herbs and rose petal.
On the palate dry, good acidity and body but also very elegant, refreshing and balanced. An unique character wine with flavours of strawberries, cherries and citrus fruits. The finish is long with nice minerality and freshness.
Also a rosé which you can keep some years in the cellar.
The wines from the winery Manincor rank among the best wines of South Tyrol and also the wine-growing estate itself is one of the most beautiful and modern ones.
Manincor was built in 1609 in Kaltern in Southern South Tyrol and since 300 years the different owners produces high quality wine there.
Behind the Manincor wines this days stands one name: Earl Michael Graf Goess-Enzenberg. His family owns the wine-growing-estate since 1662. He and his wife Countess Sophie continue the ancient heritage: understanding tradition and develop it.
Today the wine-growing-estate owns the most modern subterranean wine-cellar of the region. From the outside only timber and glass is visible, overgrown by many vines. In the inside some of the best wines of the country maturate. The top-wines of Manicor are: Réserve della Contessa and Cassiano 2004. The wines are characterized by mature and wood aroma.
