A couple of weeks ago we tasted this red wine...with good weather.
Tonight a wine from Sardegna with the Monica variety.
Argiolas - Monica Iselis Rosso 2014 (87 tsomw points)
In the glass a ruby red color.
On the nose delicate aromas of ripe cherries, plums with notes of cinnamon, dark chocolate, pepper and vanilla.
On the palate round and balanced, soft in the mouth with spices, vanilla, dark ripe fruits and nice long aftertaste.

SOIL Calcareous, soils deriving from marly limestone sediments.
GRAPE VARIETIES Monica
CLIMATE Mediterranean, good temperature excursions, excellent ventilation.
VINIFICATION TECHNIQUE
Maceration at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C for about 10-12 days.
Malolactic fermentation in glass-lined concrete wine tanks for 10-15 days.
EVOLUTION Development in barriques for 12 months, followed by further development in the bottle for about 6 months.
FOOD MATCHES Traditional pasta dishes with sauce, savoury fish soups, grilled tuna steaks, stewed lamb, medium-matured pecorino cheese, grilled red meats.
