Cantina Berritta - Thurcalesu, Cannonau di Sardegna 2015
Pairing Suggestions
Monday evening. It's cold outside so we have to pick a nice red one to warm up.
Cantina Berritta - Thurcalesu, Cannonau di Sardegna 2015 (84 tsomw points)
In the glass a bright ruby red color.
On the nose intense aromas of cherries, red berries with hints of sweet herbs, pepper and balsamico.
On the palate medium- full bodied good balance, medium tannins and long finish. For me slightly too sweet but well done wine.
Winemakers notes:
Harvest time: End of September.
Grapes coming from our vineyards located in the Oddoene valley, Dorgali. A favorite area for producing cannonau wines. Limite limestone granite disintegration ground.
Vinification: The oldest vineyard grapes, hand-picked with careful selection, are dirasped and transferred to traditional wooden tinctures where alcoholic fermentation begins. The fermentation lasts about 12 days and occurs in contact with the skins, with repeated manual seams. After fermentation, the wine separated from the vinegars is refined for 50% in large wood of 10 hl and the remaining in steel containers where malolactic fermentation occurs.
Foodmatching: Specially flavored seasoned cheese, meat and game, idyllic with a roasted Sardinian piglet.
15,5% Vol.
