Bisci - Rosso Fogliano 2013 (85/100 tsomw points)
Dark ruby red in color with garnet hue.
On the nose aromas of black cherries, mulberries, raisins with hints of nuts and green pepper.
On the palate dry and full-bodied with big tannins but not annoying.
Winemakers notes:
The wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, with prevalence of the first and in varying percentages depending on the vintages. Bothe red grapes are cultivated with modified spurred cordon and with a very small number of gems.
The grapes are harvested in early October.
The fermentation takes place in steel tanks.
After about 9 months of aging in neutral vessels, the wine is bottled at before being released to the market not before he spent 3 months in the bottle for aging.
