This smooth wine is made from the local grape Uva di Troia grown in the best vineyards in the hilly area around Castel del Monte. From this particular red grape variety ruby-red, intense and high-alcohol wines are produced with a strong personality reminiscent of local tradition.
The wine is made according to traditional methods at controlled temperatures in limited capacity vessels and refined in the bottle without aging in wood barrels. The bouquet is rich with an intense fruity fragrance revealing notes of blackberry, cherry, plum and fig with spicy hints of black pepper and cloves. The wine is dry, harmonious and with a pleasant characteristic with a high percentage of alcohol. This results in a full-bodied, soft and fresh wine.
Uva di Troia’s intensity and striking personality makes this wine excellent with pasta, red meat, game and various semi-mature cheeses.
