Cantina Tollo - Cagiolo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 2008
Pairing Suggestions
The Cagiolo Reserva 2008 is allmost black with violet reflections. Lots more flavours as the 2011 vintage. Aging was very good for this Montepulciano. Great
2011 - review
The Cagiolo Reserva 2011 of the Cantina Tollo is dark ruby red allmost black with violet reflections. In the nose dark forrest fruit, cherries, currants, black plums with notes of cacao, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla. The first sip is really enjoyable. With 14,5 % alcohol dominates a youghtfull freshness with tannins, just drying, but with no astringent feeling. Aromas of ripe cherries and fresh red fruit. Perhaps lacking a bit of flavor but I think this will appear after some more years. The aftertaste is long with some fine wood notes.
