Colterenzio - Pinot Grigio Puiten 2015
Pairing Suggestions
Another great white from one of my fave regions for white wine. Alto Adige!
Colterenzio – Puiten Pinot Grigio 2015 (86 tsomw points)
In the glass a bright yellow color with greenish rim.
On the nose fresh aromas of pear, apple and stone fruit with hints of lemon and spicyness.
On the palate medium-bodied with nice mouthfeel and vibrant acidity. Long pleasant aftertaste.
Winemakers notes:
Food Combination: A very food-friendly wine, try with a chicken pasta bake, a fish and chip supper, an apple and celery or seafood salad. Serve lightly chilled: 10 – 12° C.
Location: Vineyards with medium-heavy, gravely and sandy soils.
Winemaking: Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at a constant temperature of 18° C and lasts around 14 days. Part of the wine is fermented in large oak casks. Both new wines refine separately on their fine lees for 6 months and will be blended before bottling.
SELECTIONS
Selected vineyards, low yields and unique elegance all distinguish the wines of the Selection Line. Depending on the variety, the wines mature in stainless steel tanks or in oak barrels. The meticulous and gentle processing of the grapes expresses the character of the region and of each single variety, especially after a longer aging period.
